Privacy policy

DipScout has no accounts, no sign-up and no API keys. We collect a small amount of technical data to count visits, attribute clicks and stop abuse. We never collect the content of your conversations with an AI assistant.

Who we are

DipScout (https://dipscout.com) is an independent price tracker for AliExpress products. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by AliExpress or Alibaba. Contact: support@dipscout.com.

What we collect

On the website

• Page views: the page path, the referring page, campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), your IP address, your browser's user agent and the time.
• Clicks on "buy" links (which go through /go/…): the product, where the click came from (website, API, MCP, Telegram and so on), your IP address, user agent, referring page, the time, and a short code derived from your IP that lets us count distinct visitors in a month.
• Light or dark theme: stored in your own browser (localStorage), never sent to us.

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies and we do not use third-party analytics. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set strictly necessary security cookies.

On the public API and the MCP server

• Your IP address is used, in memory, to apply the rate limit of 60 requests per minute. We do not store API requests or MCP tool calls in our database.
• MCP tool arguments (a category, a price limit, a product link) are used only to answer that call. We do not receive or ask for your chat history, your name, your email or any other conversation data.
• If you follow a buyUrl from an API or MCP answer, that click is recorded as described above for the website.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived request and error logs (URL, IP address, time, status) that we use to fix problems. Cloudflare deletes them after a few days.

Why we use it

• To count visits and learn which pages and channels are useful.
• To match clicks with the affiliate commissions AliExpress reports, which is how the site is paid for.
• To detect and block abuse, such as scripted floods of requests.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Who receives it

• Cloudflare, which hosts the website, the database and the logs on our behalf (Cloudflare privacy policy).
• AliExpress, only when you choose to open a product there. The link carries our affiliate code; from then on AliExpress's own privacy policy applies, and AliExpress may set its own cookies. We do not send AliExpress your IP address or any other data about you.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Page views and click records stay in our database until we delete them; there is no automatic expiry today. You can ask us to delete the records linked to your IP address at any time, and we will do so within 30 days. Server logs are kept by Cloudflare for a few days.

Your choices and rights

You can use the API and the MCP server without visiting the website, and you can block the page-view request in your browser without losing any feature. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or Brazil's LGPD) you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, or to object to its use. Write to support@dipscout.com and include your IP address and the approximate dates, since we hold nothing else that identifies you.

Children

DipScout is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. See also our terms of use.
